Five threads of the practice.
The way I work brings together five threads that have shaped my practice since 2011. Functional Medicine, the clinical foundation. Mind-Body Medicine, the regulation that makes the rest possible. Heart-Led Healing, the part of healing that asks for presence rather than fixing. Sanctuary Within, the inner work, the practice of returning to yourself. Positive Psychology, the strengths-based work of widening the view to what is already strong. None of these stand alone. Together, they are the practice.

Each pillar enters this work through a different door.
Understanding the body as a connected whole. Asking why, not just what. Sleep, nourishment, the nervous system, movement, stress, the environment we live in. The foundations are the same across stages; the priorities shift.
Open this pillar Mind-Body Medicinethe regulation layerThe nervous system underneath everything else. Mind and body in constant conversation. Sleep, stress, digestion, hormones, and mood all sitting on top of how the system is doing.
Open Heart-Led Healingthe relational ground of the workHow care is offered changes how it is received. Heart-Led Healing is the quality of presence in the room, unhurried, attentive, without judgment. It is the ground every other pillar rests on, present in every appointment, every conversation.
Open Sanctuary Withinwhat does not change when everything else doesThere is a quiet, steady place inside you that does not disappear, even when everything else does. The pillar of returning to it, in the middle of real life.
Open Positive Psychologywidening the viewOur brains are built to scan for what is wrong. Positive Psychology is the practice of widening the view, so what is also working becomes visible. The strengths a person actually carries, the character traits that hold a household together, are already there.
OpenDifferent doors into one body of work.
Each pillar enters the work through a different door, but the work is one. Functional Medicine asks the body to settle. Mind-Body Medicine works with the nervous system that holds the body. Heart-Led Healing meets the heart that the body protects. Sanctuary Within is the interior that the heart rests in, the steady place that becomes easier to reach as each of the others is supported. Positive Psychology is the practice of widening the view, so what is already strong in the whole becomes visible.
In practice, someone working with me may move between pillars. A fertility-prep client may begin in Functional Medicine and find Heart-Led Healing becomes central if loss arrives. A postpartum client may begin in restoration and find Sanctuary Within becomes the steady ground.
Finding your entry point.
There are a few ways into this work, depending on where you are.
If you know which stage of life you are in, that may be the most useful entry point.
If you would like to start with something simple, the 21-Day Foundation is a free daily practice that runs across all the pillars and serves any stage. The Living Fully newsletter is the steady continuing thread.
Life By Love is the practice of Johanna Rosen. Doula, Functional Medicine Health Coach, mother of three, with a meditation practice since the early 2000s grounding the work.
