A Gentle Approach to Parenthood

As you prepare for or navigate the journey into parenthood, it's natural to feel a mix of emotions - excitement, uncertainty, and hope. At Life By Love, we're here to support you and your loved ones through this significant life transition, offering personalized guidance and care that nurtures your well-being.

I’ve been listening closely to what my clients have consistently been asking for. Women have always reached out for support through pregnancy, birth, and the transition into motherhood, and more recently I’ve also seen a clear and growing need from both women and couples preparing for pregnancy, navigating fertility challenges, or wanting more support in this phase of life, especially through fertility challenges, loss, and grief. I’ve also seen how much it means when a baby finally arrives after years of trying, and that has shaped my work deeply. Even when I wasn’t explicitly offering this work, people still found their way to me.

Why I Am Choosing To Niche Down

For a long time, my work naturally expanded across different areas of health and wellbeing. I explored, learned, and followed where trends were moving. But when I take an honest look at where I have the most depth, where I create the most meaningful change, and where people consistently come to me, it has always been here in the transition into parenthood. Fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and early family life are the areas where I have both experience and confidence in how I can truly support people.

There are many directions I could take this work of mine, but I am choosing to stay with the one that feels true and aligned, and where I know I can make the biggest difference.

The Depth Behind My Work

For more than 15 years I have been working closely with women and families through these transitions in different ways and different contexts. Alongside that lived experience, I have studied extensively and built a strong foundation in functional medicine, lifestyle approaches, and mind body work. What I bring into my work now is the combination of both professional knowledge and lived understanding.

I have personally moved through this phase of life, and it has been one of the most meaningful periods of my life. Looking back though, I can see where the right support would have made a real difference.

This is a very important transition in life. It shapes how women experience themselves, their relationships, and their entry into motherhood. It is often a time where people either feel grounded and empowered, or overwhelmed and lost, and that difference can carry forward for years.

My focus is to create more of that empowered experience. When women and couples have the right support in this stage, it changes not only how they move through it, but how they move through everything that follows.

Early support in this phase can have a lasting positive impact that goes far beyond the moment itself. Without it, the experience of entering parenthood can feel much harder than it needs to be and can echo into later stages of life.

What I Offer In This Space

Life By Love is a family focused health practice using functional medicine principles to support women and families through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and family life. The work is highly personalised and tailored to each person.

Depending on where someone is in their journey, this might look like preparing for pregnancy through lifestyle, nutrition, and nervous system support, or working with couples who are navigating fertility challenges and want both practical guidance and emotional steadiness alongside that process. It can also be support during pregnancy where the focus is on feeling calm, informed, and supported in both body and mind, or postpartum care that goes beyond the early weeks and supports the longer process of recovery and identity. For many mothers and families it is also about finding balance again in daily life, creating more regulation, connection, and steadiness in the home.

Why Couples Are Part Of This

While my main focus is always the woman, I don’t see this journey as something she goes through alone. Especially when it comes to fertility, loss, and entering parenthood, the couple dynamic plays a very important role. The way two people move through this together matters.

For this reason I also work with couples, particularly those who want to feel more balanced in their relationship and their bodies as they prepare for conception. Couples who want to optimize their foundation first, creating physical, emotional, and relational balance so they are in the best possible place before entering this phase of life.

A Response, Not A Reinvention

This is not a new direction for me. It is more a response to what has already been there for a long time. To the women who continue to reach out. To couples looking for a more holistic approach to feel more ready and supported when preparing for conception, and who are seeking more personalised support than is often available.

A Clear Direction Forward

This is really a decision to stay in my lane and go deeper rather than wider. To bring together everything I have studied, everything I have experienced, and everything I know works into one clear and focused practice.

There is a real need for this kind of support, and I feel very clear and steady in the work I am doing here. It feels good to step into it more fully, and I’m genuinely glad I get to be the one offering this kind of work.

Enjoy and stay tuned, there is so much more to come.

With love,

Johanna
